- Highest Honors: 4.0 and above
- High Honor Roll: 3.75 – 3.99
- Honor Roll: 3.20 – 3.74
GPA Calculations
The unweighted (base) GPA is calculated by dividing the total number of quality points by the total number of credits attempted during each 9 week grading period. Quality points are determined by the following letter grade values:
A=4, B=3, C=2, D=1, F=0.
Grade point averages are cumulative calculations of all earned grades that occur during each 9 week grading period including quarterly exams.
Weighted GPA equals the Unweighted GPA + Add-on weight for honors, CHS, and AP classes. Add-on weighted values are as follows:
- Advanced Placement (AP) - 0.08 for full year, 0.02 per quarter
- College in High School (CHS) - 0.08 for full year, 0.02 per quarter
- Honors - 0.04 for full year, 0.01 per quarter
Students may take as many weighted courses for which they qualify, but the weight obtained each year will be capped at the following:
- Freshman year: 0.26 cap using available CHS and Honors course weights
- Sophomore year: 0.34 cap using available AP, CHS, and Honors course weights
- Junior year: 0.48 cap using available AP, CHS, and Honors course weights
- Senior year: 0.48 cap using available AP, CHS, and Honors course weights
*In weighted courses, students must obtain a "C" grade (70%) or better and complete the course to earn the weighted add-on for the course.
Both weighted and unweighted GPA are reported on the transcript.
